I'm normally not one to post things such as this, but one of my goals for 2013 is to celebrate the victories over my insecurities in an effort to encourage others to do the same.
The picture on the left was taken this time last year. 2012 was the most refining 12 months of my entire life BOTH physically and spiritually. Losing over 40 lbs was liberating in ways I didn't expect and difficult in ways I didn't anticipate. I'm indescribably indebted to those who loved me through this past year. The picture on the right is in no way an arrival, but a reflection of where I am now. I'm still on a physical and spiritual journey, as I always hope to be. The difference now is that I'm striving to look upon myself with compassion and celebration for every leg of my journey, both past and present.
